When I first came across ELEVĀTED Dance HQ, I thought it was
simply another dance program. But over the past three years, my perspective has completely changed, not only because I’ve seen its impact firsthand, but because I’ve become part of it. Today, I’m proud to be one of their teachers and a company director, and that experience has shown me just how powerful this organization truly is.
ELEVĀTED is about so much more than dance training. It’s about creating opportunities for kids who might not otherwise have access to them. Through scholarships, community support, and donor contributions, students are given the chance to train at a high level and even travel to major cities like New York and Los
Angeles. Watching my students step into those environments, places they may have once thought were out of reach, is something that never gets old. It’s not just exciting; it’s transformative.
Personally, ELEVĀTED has also opened doors for me. Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to train and perform alongside our professional companies, experiences that have elevated my own artistry and deepened what I can bring back to my students. Being able to bridge that gap between the professional world and our young dancers is something I don’t take lightly. It allows me to give them real insight, real expectations, and real inspiration.
What makes EDH stand out most to me is its commitment to developing the whole person. In the studio, we focus on technique and performance, but we’re equally focused on building confidence, discipline, and character. As a teacher and director, I see how much these kids grow – not just as dancers, but as individuals. They begin to believe in themselves in ways they hadn’t before, and that shift impacts every part of their lives.
There’s also a strong sense of community that runs through
everything we do. ELEVĀTED isn’t just a program; it’s a family. The students support one another, the staff invests deeply in each dancer, and together we’re building something that lasts far beyond a single performance or season.
To me, ELEVĀTED Dance HQ represents what the arts are meant to do: uplift, connect, and transform. I’ve seen it change lives from the inside, including my own. And when I look at the students we work with every day, I know the impact will continue to grow far beyond the studio walls.
