Diwali is a celebration of good over evil, embracing the inner divine light by lighting a diya, the lamp of hope. Twelve influential women, predominately of South Asian decent, were invited to attend the Diwali event at the Cartier mansion in New York City on October 18, 2018. They were treated to a themed private mansion tour that focused on the Cartier brand’s South Asian heritage.

Manisha Mundhra Beriwala, CEO and founder of The Corporate Diwali, planned the event and focuses her work on bringing attention to the importance of Diwali to Hindu culture. Growing up in India, I remember families huddled in happiness during festivities. Once I moved to the United States, I began to miss the festival celebrations back home, and many friends and fellow Indians shared the same feelings. I felt it was my responsibility to bring the South Asian community together to re-create the same grandeur and sense of cultural belonging.”

Our own editor-in-chief, Dr. Shellie Hipsky attended this exclusive event wearing a StyLush Couture by Bijal Vohra original design. Surrounded by the glistening jewels at the Cartier mansion, Dr. Shellie said, “I felt deeply included in the cultural holiday and welcomed into the beauty that is Diwali.”
