Le Fleur brought an exceptional show to the Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh, PA on Thursday June 11. Many attendees were treated to an evening of enchantment and imagination. The Le Fleur event was sponsored by Dollar Bank and provided a magical world of wonder for guests. The theme of the show was Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

There was a vibrant energy in the room as guests gathered in the lobby to mingle before the event. Talent was in abundance as designers, models, and artists showcased their masterful performances and pieces. Every single one was created through sustainable and natural material. The models captured the attention of every passerby as their depiction of each exquisite piece was exhibited with confidence and poise.

An elegant floral design dress was portrayed on Mary Grace Nichol, a Cosplayer who has brought so much joy to countless events for 20 years. Her dress was self-created and visually drew you in with painted florals and colors of pink, green, and white. Mary stated she, “always wanted to attend Phipps Conservatory.” Another cosplayer who attended with Mary was Persephane Ranae. Her costume was beautiful in an all-green dress with a gorgeous green necklace that complimented the outfit perfectly. Persephane expressed that her cosplaying, “is a creative outlet for me.” A large red flower topped off the look beautifully.

Part of the evening’s festivities included a performance by exquisite dancers. These ballet performers took to the dance floor in a radiant performance with live composition. As the music started with harmonious sound the dancers glided with grace and sophistication showing off delicate movements that aligned with the natural vibe and repurposed costumes. One performer entered the dance floor wearing an orange and green flowered dress with a beautiful landscape sewed into it filled with multicolored flowers that pleasantly caught the eye!  Another dancer was lighting up the stage wearing an all green costume that felt like you were being swept into a peaceful forest environment, with greenery everywhere you turned and maybe even hearing the sounds of an extravagant waterfall nearby. These dancers represented the Confluence Ballet Co.  which is located right in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Brian David, a designer with a stunning eye for fashion was in attendance with Joanna Wentling. Wentling modeled a piece designed by David and pulled off the blue and gold dress with professionalism and flawless beauty. David stated he, “loves creating something whimsical,” when asked about his process of creating the evening’s design. Wentling loves that she can express herself through fashion. “I support the vision of fashion,” stated Wentling. David advocates for designers who are pushing for fair pay, as he is one of them.

Lana Neumeyer, a designer gifted with the ability to create original pieces that ignite the imagination, spent some time during her interview explaining the importance of a creative mindset, and using that to enhance the world of art and fashion. Neumeyer gave valuable insight into what the love of a creative mindset can do for those who have the talent. “Creating pieces brings happiness through the energy and textures. When you like fashion and are born with inspiration to create, develop your creativity. The most important thing in life is to be creative, no matter what you do.” You can find more of the work by Neumeyer on Instagram @FashioninFramesbyGenesis.
