Fabulous and in control, these amazing women could conquer a runway as easily as they climb the career ladder. Check out these ladies as they rock high fashion in their everyday work environments. They take “just doing my job” to a whole new level.

Erin Issac DMD, Pediatric Dentist, Winning Smiles Pediatric Dental Care

The best part about my job is doing what is best for my patients, not doing it a certain way because someone else does it that way or says it has to be done their way. I love creating an environment that’s unique and different. It keeps everyone coming back and telling their friends and family about the positive experience!

The biggest challenge is getting people to understand the importance of kids’ oral health and how that can affect overall health.

I’m passionate about spreading the importance of children’s oral health and taking care of all teeth (including baby teeth). I’m also passionate about empowering girls and women to be whatever they want to be!

For other women climbing the ladder of success, get as much advice as you can, do as much research as you can, but take it all with a grain of salt. No one is you, and you don’t want to do every single thing the same as someone else. Be unique. Always stay true to you, and don’t compare your success to what everyone appears to be achieving or reaching on the outside. We never know the struggles others are going through or have gone through to get to where they are. We also have to make our own definitions of success and know that it’ll take time to get there. Success isn’t all about money; it’s about building something that you love, are proud of, and can leave a lasting positive mark.

Michelle Bugg, Co-owner, The Foundry Table & Tap
My favorite thing about my job is the people. I love working with my husband and my brother, as well as our chefs, employees, and customers, who have become like family.

We opened our doors shortly after I became a new mom, which was a huge challenge for me. I had to learn how to navigate a lot of new territory at once, and how to establish a healthy balance in my life.
I am passionate about food! I love eating delicious food, trying different things and dining out with friends. I’ve always wanted to create a place where people could enjoy doing just that. It’s incredibly rewarding to hear about the memorable experiences customers have had at our restaurant.
I want other women who are building their careers to remember to be courageous. Step out of your comfort zone and don’t be afraid to take risks, even if you are not sure you’re completely ready. Surround yourself with good people—people who inspire you, people you can learn from, and people who believe in you.

Attorney Jessica Quinn-Horgan, Founder and Attorney at Law, Law Offices of Jessica Quinn-Horgan

The legal field is still a largely male dominated field, so as a woman, I enjoy being a mentor and a role model to new female attorneys and to my three children, especially my two young daughters. They see that women can be strong, stand up, take charge, and be a leader.

My biggest challenge is not taking everything to heart. It’s sometimes difficult to stay detached from my cases. My husband says that I treat everyone’s fight as my own, which makes me a good advocate but can also be emotionally draining.

I’m passionate about giving people a voice. It’s demanding, but I love advocating on behalf of people so their voices and positions can be heard. Whether in court during litigation or simply advising someone on how to get what they want, I take pride in solving problems and helping people achieve their best possible outcome.

For women climbing the ladder of success, do not to settle. I used to work in large law firms but found it nearly impossible to have the career I wanted and be the wife and mother I wanted to be in the confines of that environment. Eleven years ago I took a chance and went out on my own to start a practice, and I am so glad I did. While I work long hours, I work on my own terms and have the flexibility to have a good balance between my career and family.

Tiffany Fluhme, President/CEO Fluhme Beauty

One of the things I love most about the business is the ability to give young women amazing opportunities with our company. As long as they have the passion and drive, I will continue to work to give them the tools they need to experience success beyond what they could have ever imagined.

Honestly, the biggest challenge in my position is learning to manage so many people. Most days I feel like my job is to keep 25 people happy and positive, and sometimes this is quite a challenge. I try to keep a positive attitude regardless of the situation and encourage our team to do the same.

I am most passionate about my family—my husband and two boys. Needless to say, I am passionate about my business and the beauty industry as whole, too.

The best advice I would give women climbing the ladder of success is to first and foremost be sure you LOVE what you do. If you do not, you need to search for your career soulmate. Those who love what they do and dive into their work 150% will experience the most success. Also, if you love what you do, never ever give up. You will certainly face multiple challenges and roadblocks, but I promise you that, if you keep pushing, it will all pay off.
