Annually, I am a “Celebrity Foodie Judge” at the Cocktails and Cuisine event to raise funds for Crisis Center North helping to support women who are survivors of domestic violence. Last year, the People’s Choice Winner was Bonefish Grille. The exquisite food we sampled for this review was at the McCandless Crossings Bonefish Grille location.
Bonefish specializes in seasonal fresh fish and never disappoints.
As appetizers, my colleagues and I dined on the piled high Bang Bang Shrimp, which had a zip to it, and the spicy sauce that makes it a Bonefish signature dish. One member of our group is a crab cake connoisseur and orders them at every restaurant she goes to. Her taste buds were singing with the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes which were very lightly breaded and savory.
I loved the Brussels sprouts served in a warm skillet. They were beyond delicious and drizzled with citrus aioli
The other guests at my table tore into the Baja Fish Tacos with lime sour cream prepared with blacken cod fish. When managing partner Chris Bryant found out that I don’t typically eat fish, and he quickly made a wonderful accommodation. He prepared the tacos for me with grilled chicken. I loved the refreshing mango infused flavors!
As the wonderful server Riley explained to us, “Bonefish always finds a way to not say ‘no.’” We all appreciated that they try to accommodate the tastes and preferences of the customers. And we were very happy customers indeed, especially when we capped off our meal with a decadent brownie and vanilla bean ice cream. I know I will be back time and time again with friends and family to savor the delicious seasonal selections!
