Growing up, I was always taken by fashion. My mother shared with me stories of how, whenever I was a baby, I would coo my way into a dress. I quite enjoy the expression of character through clothing. My background is in retail, as a Women’s Clothing manager. After years of striving to climb the corporate ladder, I came to the revelation that it is time for me to pursue my purpose. Thus, in 2019, I stepped out on faith, and opened 
DHW Fashion as a women’s clothing boutique in Monroeville Mall, with the mission to not only provide stylish looks to our guests, but to also give back to those in need. The DHW Fashion boutique featured an in-store prayer wall, where we had over 300 people come out to pray.
What inspires me is being a source of encouragement for others. I remember working at Dots clothing store one evening, and a young woman strolled in to purchase some new attire for work. Shortly after walking in, she started making her way to the exit; but I noticed that she had a forlorn expression. So, I asked her what was wrong, and she broke down, sobbing about how she just can’t do fashion; all the girls at her job are beautiful and stylish; and she’s just a country girl in overalls. I 
immediately consoled her and assured her of her beauty and value both inside and outside. Needless to say, we curated a sophisticated wardrobe, and she left radiating with confidence! This is why I do what I do- to life up another with my gifts is priceless to me.
In 2021, post-covid and the birth of my second child, I made the decision to realize my dreams, yet again, and pivot form being a boutique owner to a fashion designer. Fashion design has been such a liberating journey! I love the creative process of dreaming up new fashions on paper, and the satisfaction that comes from seeing my looks come to life on my clients a
nd the runway. Fashion for me is a calling; and, this calling continues to inspire me every day. I am so thankfulfor each new individual and client that I have the opportunity to work with.
